In the name of God Amen. I SARAH STUBBLEFIELD of the County of Rockingham and State of North Carolina, being of Sound Mind and Memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and ordain this last will and testament.
“In the manner and form following. Viz,
Item 1st. I will and bequeath unto my Grand Son Marcus C. Holderby, a Negro boy by the name of Archie to him and his heirs forever with the understanding that he Marcus C Holderby pay to his Brother Andrew M Holderby for the sum of one hundred dollars out of the value of said Negro and it is further my will that the bond I hold against Andrew M. Holderby be given to him with the interest.
Item 2nd. I will and bequeath to my Grand Son James C. Stubblefield two hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever.
Item 3rd. I will and bequeath to my Grand Son Thomas C. Stubblefield two hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever.
Item 4th. I will and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Sarah A. Holderby A Negro girl by the name of Docia to her and the heirs of her body forever with the understanding that she maintain my Negro woman Molly out of the proceeds of the same.
Item 5th. I will and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Sarah Stubblefield a Negro girl by the name of Adeline to her and the heirs of her body forever.
Item 6th. I will and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Victoria Stubblefield a Negro girl by the name of Lucia to her and the heirs of her body forever.
Item 7th. I will and bequeath to my sons Peyton and William Stubblefiled tend dollars to each of them with the money I have let them have previous to this time forever.
Item 8th. I will and bequeath to my Daughter MARTHA W HOLDERBY Ten dollars with the money I have given her revious to this time forever.
Item 9th. It is my will that all my Just debts be aid and that my ___ buy my body to suit their wishes.
Item 10th. It is my will and desire that all the residue of my property of every description be valued by three disinterested fee holders and make ___ four equal Lots and the Lots give to my Grand Daughters, Sarah A., Mary Louisa, Frances ___ and Lucy Ann Susan Holderby and their heirs of their bodies forever.
Item 11th. It is my will and desire that my Trusty friends Robert B. Watt and Daniel E. Guerrant and I do apoint them Executors to mhy last will and testament.
